Resident birds include Ernie, a friendly Snowy Egret; Henry, a stately great egret; "Willie, the Willet" and relatives; the "Coffee Klatsch" of white ibises (some of whom are not white at all; the youngsters are brownish-black); a mixed flock of Royal and Sandwich Terns; numerous "peeps", and lots of pelican "fly-overs." Dolphins, too, drop by on occasion.

"Ding" Darling Wildlife Refuge; learn about wildlife-rescue at C.R.O.W.'s new Visitors' Center; attend a concert at BigArts; see a play at the Schoolhouse Theater, or a movie at the Bailey's Plaza theater; attend a lecture or learn Shell Craft at the Community Center. Shop in charming enclaves of apparel, gift and shell shops, and art galleries. Make the rounds of Sanibel's wide assortment of cafes and restaurants.
