The entire north end of Lake Conroe is encompassed by Sam Houston National Forest, affording a spectacular boating getaway as well as hiking or wildlife viewing.
The Lone Star Hiking Trail, located in Sam Houston National Forest, Features 127 miles of overland hiking trails.
Lake Conroe features many restaurants that you can boat to, from McDonalds, to fine dinning and everything in between. Many of which feature live music for your entertainment.
Live entertainment is featured aboard the Southern Empress Paddle Wheeler dinner cruise as well.
Fishing is hot at Lake Conroe with catches of black bass, white bass, catfish, crappie & striper common. Fishing guide services are readily available.
Walden on Lake Conroe consistently ranks in the top 10 golf courses across Texas. The 11th hole, a double dogleg par 5 measuring 589 yards, was selected as one of the top 500 holes in the world by Golf Magazine in 2000. Reciprocal from golf professional to golf professional, Monday through Thursday. Although Walden is a private course there are more than a dozen pubic golf courses to choose from in the immediate area.
Shopping is not far away at the Conroe outlet mall as well as the Woodlands shopping complex. Old Montgomery offers a glimpse of Texas's early history (Third oldest town in Texas and birthplace of the Texas flag) and offers unique antique shopping at it's best.
Many activities can be accessed via boat from the house. The activities in this area are too numerous to list here, not to mention cosmopolitan Houston and it's many offerings including NASA, the theater & professional sports.

Fishing Abounds Some of the best fishing can be found in Lake Conroe. We have wonderful guide service if you want or go it yourself. Black bass, strippers, crappie, and of course as many catfish as you care to catch.
Shopping and Eating With the woodlands just a short drive away you can shop until you drop. Conroe also has an outlet mall that is only 10 min. away. You will enjoy looking through old Montgomery where Texas took root. Eat - did you say eat!!! There is no shortage of great BBQ, fish, and steak-houses, both local and chain. You can also go to the yacht club for a great night out.
The World of Houston Need we say more? Houston is only 30 miles away with sports, NASA, and theater, all just a short drive away. Drive in to Houston for any nightlife you want, than cruise back to the lake for the rest and relaxation you are seeking. A great escape for snow birds.
