In everyone's mind there is a place called paradise. A place where you can escape to for daydreaming, watching clouds float by, and perhaps healing the wounds that have been inflicted upon you by an uncaring and unsympathetic world. Waonahele (The Rainforest), our home here on the Hawaiian island of Kaua'i, captures the spirit of a gentler, kinder time, a place that you thought only existed once upon a time. Our Bed & Breakfast suites are large and comfortable and include a private lanai, whirlpool bath, sumptuous custom, king-sized bed and a view that will take your breath away. From our vantage point on top of a hill you can see the ocean, mountains, waterfalls and lovely valleys that surround us. For those unable to leave the world behind, every room has a 27" television and VCR. There are phones available and you can check your email from the office computer system. Join us for a large breakfast buffet and then treat yourself and see Kaua`i as we do - with endless wonder and delight. We are minutes away from shopping, beaches, great eating spots and entertainment. Kaua`i is famous for its natural beauty and friendly people. Stay with us for a few days- enjoy the sunrise in the morning and the stars that light up the sky in the evening.

Additional Information:
Historic Waonahele: Waonahele is a place that retains its historical roots while keeping up with the spirit of the present age. This hilltop home is part of a family trust dedicated to perpetuating its history, physical and spiritual education. Kamali'i means child in Hawaiian and the Hawaiians believed that the smaller mountain was the child of Makaleha. Of course, stories abound of mysterious happenings in this area and the Hawaiians continue to hold it sacred to them. For this reason, it is a special privilege to be the present stewards of a few acres of farm land along this mountain range. From the top of the hill the magnificent views are breathtaking and panoramic. The ocean beckons along the horizon to the east, the valleys are kissed by rainbows and the mountains stimulate the imagination. The trust headquarters, now open to guests, has a view from every room. The pictures on the walls are of real people who are part of this local part-Hawaiian family. The art work and quilts were made as gifts of aloha to members of the family and are being kept as mementos of loved ones who are now frail or have passed on.
