Activities and Nearby Attractions or Points of Interest:
For a little privacy and a getaway, you can retire to the cabin's master suite to read a book, listen to the C.D. player, take a quick nap, soak in the master spa tub or to watch your own TV program --- while the "group" are watching their "game" downstairs.Picture you and your guests, after a hard day's vacationing - with your cool drink in hand enjoying the hot tub while you overlook the scenic creek from the wrap around deck or lounge in the hammock listening to the natural sounds of the Smoky Mountains. Or spend quality time in our newly remodeled Game Room playing Ping Pong and Pool. The roads around "Creekside Retreat" follow bold streams and the sounds of waterfalls are never too far away. Hike 2 miles from our cabin down Reservation Road to our community's waterfall.

Additional Information:
Whitewater Activities & Waterfalls:How about North Carolina whitewater Nantahala, boating or tubing? The Smoky Mountain also offers the visitor some of the areas most magnificent waterfalls. A great book by Kevin Adams, called "North Carolina Waterfalls", gives you directions to most area waterfalls. Where to Dine in Maggie Valley: Whether you're staying at the Walch Smoky Mountain Creekside Retreat or Walch Pond View Retreat --- we're sure you'll want to check out the Shopping and Dining in Maggie Valley. While we have not visited them all by far, some of our favorites are Snappy's - Primarily Italian food with an excellent selection with regular or large "Snappy" sized portions! This is a very economical and good for families. J. Arthurs' restaurant is just down the road at the entrance to Highway 19 and is great for a special meal. This is probably the nicest restaurant in the area. Prices are on the high end but J. Arthurs' is a very nice dining experience if you're looking for something special. We are also fond of Maggies' Galley in Waynesville. This is an authentic Log Cabin from an earlier time which has a wide menu selection at reasonable prices. Arf's restaurant in Maggie Valley on Highway 19 sits along Jonathan's Creek and offers a great local blackened trout with salad bar for at a reasonable price. Golfing Activities near Maggie Valley: While in the Mountains, what better leisure activity than a round of golf. Play a round at The Maggie Valley Golf & County Club. While your family is off on their activity, check out the Golf Courses and Pro Shops in North Carolina. Do you want to see the Seasons Change? Blooming wildflowers, plants and trees make the Smoky Mountains special all times of the year. Fall in Maggie Valley is a wonderfull time. The changing colors of the area leaves is a matter of Simple Chemistry of Autumn Colors. Drive the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway Appalachians, North Carolina.
