Start your day watching the sunrise over 10,000 ft (dormant) Haleakala Volcano. Take a stroll down the 4+ mile long (undeveloped) beach, perhaps hunting for puka shells along the way (use these to make your own jewelry as treasured gifts for friends back home). Whales & turtles are frequent visitors and can be seen right from the condo. An occasional dolphin or monk seal will show up too. Deep sea fishing, snorkel excursions depart from Maalaea Harbor, 3 golf courses within 5 miles of the condo. Miniature golf, bumper boats and rock climbing park within walking distance, nature trails, parasailing, rollerblading, shopping, surfing, tennis, biking, boating, dinner cruises, whale watching excursions all close by.A must is to pack a picnic lunch and take the drive to the Hana side of the island. Waterfalls, rainforest and lush tropical beauty can be found on this drive. It takes all day... so you should plan to leave early (7-8am).
