Amber Bear Inn is a newly built, air-conditioned,quaint Country Inn located on a wildlife sanctuary in northwest Montana. The nearly 400 acre estate teams with wildlife, birds, butterflies, small lakes, nature trails and magnificent views. Kootenai National Forest adjoins the estate, providing an immense corridor for native wildlife and adventurous guests to mingle. Jenny, a Red Healer, and Lucky, a golden retriever mix, are "on staff" and happily accompany guests on nature walks and golf cart rides. Alternatively, guests may join the "old goat" walks and stroll the estate with Oreo and Hershey, pygmy goats with a flair for hospitality and a goat's enthusiasm for sampling nature's salad bar.

Amenities:
Large country breakfasts-including farm fresh eggs- and "starlight grazing" at our buffet bar, are included. (We are far from City lights, and experience "Northern Lights" in the winter and shooting stars in the summer. Many guests "munch" the night away on our wrap-around deck, grazing and gazing at the Heavens.) Some bedrooms have fireplaces, wetbars, and bathrooms equipped with both a roomy shower and jetted bathtubs-for-two. Most rooms have magnificent views of either the Cabinet or Bitteroot Mountain Ranges. Golf carts are available for registered guests to view the many nature trails on the estate. In-room coffee pots are equipped with a variety of fresh-roasted gourmet coffees. Laundry services are available. Plentiful parking exists for boat and horse trailers. Seasonal viewing of native black bears prowling the apple orchards, behind the Inn, are common. Wild elk frequently mingle with the Inn's grazing horses by Amber Bear Lake.

Activities and Nearby Attractions or Points of Interest:
The surrounding area has extensive hiking/equestrian trails, watersking on both Lake Pend Oreille and the "smooth-as-glass" Clark Fork River, fishing on multiple rivers & streams, snow sking at Schweitzer mountain, or cross country skiing and snowshoeing on the premises. The area is dotted with multiple golf courses. Both horseback riding lessons and trail rides may be booked. Poontoon boats, speed boats, jet skies, and river/lake cruises are seasonally available. Educational nature walks may be booked, through our staff, with Dennis Nichols, author of Trails of the Wild Cabinets and Trails of the Wild Selkirks. The uncrowded Heron boat ramp is nearby and boasts free, easy access to the Clark Fork River. Or join the locals at "the old swimmin hole" nearby, at the confluence of the Clark Fork River and the Bull River.

A conference room, equipped with full business services, high-speed internet access, and a magnificent view of Big Sky country, is ideal for executive retreats.
